I’m an awful story writer, but somehow I want to say how TERRIFIED I was of the weight room I never lifted a single weight until I was a sophomore in college and in less than a year I went from newbie in the weight room to certified personal trainer. I came up with absolutely no background of fitness and the weight room was very scary to me. So now every time I’m in the gym I try and encourage someone who looks like they need it because I sure as hell needed it when I was a newbie.
I also want to say something about how people should never be afraid to fail! You’ll never know how strong you are until you push yourself to the limit. And failing never actually means you failed. It means you’re really shooting to reach the highest you can reach. I’ve failed out of more squats, bench presses, over head presses and anything more than I could ever imagine But that’s where I’ve felt the most accomplished. You always feel so great getting a rep or getting a weight after you failed at it two weeks ago.
