LAUREN COLSTON, RDN
I’m so glad you found this page. I’m the Registered Dietitian here at BODYFIT Lexington and I work with people to help them understand what a healthy diet looks like for them. There’s so much information out there and it can be overwhelming, but I believe in the power of food in our performance – in life, at work, in the gym, wherever you go.
I grew up with a passion for spending time in my mom’s kitchen experimenting with new recipes and cool kitchen gadgets, but don’t be mistaken – I grew up eating whatever came out of a freezer meal or the basic spaghetti or tacos my mom made, she was a single mom. I didn’t come from a family where fruits and veggies were the star of every meal or water was the only drink available at home. Convenience items and fast food were frequent for us. Over time I started to realize the importance nutrition plays in everyone’s life when I watched family members suffering from diabetes, cancer, heart disease, the list goes on. That’s when I chose to commit to learning more about nutrition and went to school for it!
My mission as a Dietitian is to help thousands of people prevent disease, lose weight, get the most out of your workouts, and live happier and healthier. Life is too short for fad diets and restrictive diet plans. I teach my clients how all foods fit in a healthy diet.
Ultimately, I am passionate about helping people feel comfortable and confident about FOOD! The diet that is stress free, realistic, and sustainable is the one for you – and that will be different for everyone.
